Stamford/Norwalk State’s Attorney Paul J. Ferencek announced Thursday, Oct. 12, the conviction of Eddie C. Gonzalez, age 36, of Orlando, Florida, for the crimes of sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
A Stamford Superior Court jury on Wednesday, Oct.11, found Gonzalez guilty of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old child in Norwalk in October 2018, Ferencek said.
Evidence at trial included witness testimony and DNA tests that showed Gonzalez performed oral sex on the child and massaged her buttocks in her home, Ferencek said.
The next day, the child reported the sexual assault to her mother and grandparents who then contacted police, he added.
Gonzalez is scheduled for sentencing in January 2024.
